I am a passionate personal trainer who also happens to be a qualified psychotherapist.

I want to get to know you as an individual and tailor my approach accordingly. Having a degree in psychotherapy and a certified personal trainer I have the qualifications and training to help you.

My studio in Cork is a private gym space, where we gently move between contemplation, support and physical exercise.

I have lived through anxiety, depression and addiction and can personally vouch for its value in helping me rebuild and re-imagine my life.
Some of my clients come to me for support as they find the traditional gym too intimidating and working with me builds their fitness and confidence.
Other clients are struggling with all of the complexities of life and my method of working on the body and mind at the same time is extremely beneficial and helps them move beyond our monkey mind.

Customized & Comfortable

Everyone has different needs or goals, as such there is not a “one-size fits all” approach. All sessions are carried out on a one-to-one basis and each program is carefully tailored to your individual requirements.

In the first session we will discuss your goals and needs, we will also identify little milestones to put in place along the way to keep track of progress and ensure that your aims are being achieved. Based on this analysis I will tailor an overarching program suitable to your needs which we will review regularly.

Every subsequent session will begin with a talk about how your week went, any issues you may have had and what you need from the session to best set you up for the week ahead. From there we can decide what type of exercise would most benefit you on that day.

The exercise in each session will be specifically tailored for what you need on that particular day and is designed to create a significant change to your lifestyle. I’m with you every step of the way, and as your needs and goals change so does my approach.

started My Mental Fitness because I wanted to take a more comprehensive approach to ‘fitness’. I wanted to put more of a focus on mental health and in doing that achieve a level of fitness that starts with the mind and works outwards.

‘Happiness is an inside job’ Napoleon Hill

I developed this concept from my own personal experience. Whether you suffer from anxiety, depression or just low self esteem life can be a struggle for many of us and we spend most of our time just trying to navigate through it as best we can. Eventually just managing life is the only way we know how to exist. We don’t know how to change or even if it’s possible.

Speaking from experience I know that change is possible. I never really felt like I had control over my life, and I was just trying to manage it as best I could. I never stopped to evaluate what was working well in my life or what was preventing me from being happy. Turns out most of the decisions I was making was exactly what was keeping me from having control of my life or from living a life that actually worked for me. I needed to make a change but I didn’t even know where to start.

I started to make different choices and exercise got me through my most difficult times and I loved the energy it gave me. Once I could see the wood from the trees I realised that exercise alone wasn’t enough to keep my life on track I had to have a healthy mind as well as a healthy body.

‘You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind’

I went back to college to study psychotherapy graduating with an honours degree from MTU. And while studying psychotherapy I also qualified as a personal trainer. What started as a personal journey and a desire to basically ‘be happy’ had turned into so much more. Things I never thought were possible were now a reality. I remember just when just getting through a day felt like an achievement now I can’t wait to start the day.
