My story
My name is Colin Gayer, and I know what it feels like to not recognise the person you’ve become.
I’ve lived through anxiety, depression, and addiction. At my lowest, getting through a single day felt like an achievement. I had no idea the version of me that exists now—the one who can’t wait to start the day—was even possible.
Exercise was the first thing that helped me start climbing out. But I quickly realised a healthy body without a healthy mind is a house built on sand. So I went back to college. I earned an honours degree in psychotherapy from MTU, and qualified as a certified personal trainer alongside it.
I built My Mental Fitness because the kind of support I needed—something that works on both body and mind, delivered by someone who truly understands both—didn’t exist. Now it does.
